Our country has never experienced a situation similar to that experienced by education in the course of the last three years, although its deterioration began 22 years ago with the regime and has been worsening since 2011.Thus, briefly, Frank Andrade, national director of conflicts of the College of Teachers of Venezuela, describes it to Elimpulso.com.Education is a real disaster, he affirms, not only because the socialist ideologization has been introduced to equalize poverty and lower educators and students into misery, but because it has been totally neglected and improvisation and disorder have prevailed since the directives of the officials of the ministries, whose heads have not been suitable but partisan activists.-The Cuban communist model has been copied, in which ideology prevails and not the quality of education. But, with the aggravating circumstance that here there is no planning strategy in relation to the country, which is why no study plans have been designed to train good students. They have wasted time with poor education, to which is added the Chinese pandemic that paralyzed activities for practically three years.-But, we tell you, the pandemic began in 2020.By then education was already very bad. When the COVID-19 virus appeared, the authorities suspended classes and since they did not find what to do, they improvised with a remote process, but they did not take into account that the schools lacked the technology to carry it out.The television classes failed because they were poorly conceived and with individuals who did not know how to communicate, much less were they prepared to carry out an emergency educational program.Students needed counselors, television sets, and smartphones.Their parents, who were already in poverty due to the government system that suppressed all the demands reached by the workers, did not have the resources to help their children, because the main thing was to get the minimum to feed the families. And failure occurred because it was already conceived in the improvisation with which it was acted. The campuses were abandoned when the pandemic appeared.Due to the lack of surveillance, the criminals took advantage of the circumstance and took everything that was in their facilities. Not only did they carry the kitchen utensils, but also the bathroom installations, the electrical cables and, in short, they left nothing so that when classes resumed, the students could have what they had left behind and the educators, in their The majority deserted due to the appalling conditions in which they found themselves, although they had been withdrawing from their activities for some time due to poor wages.More than two hundred thousand educators, according to the information that we have been able to obtain at the College. Most of them left the country abroad. And those who stayed dedicated themselves to carrying out different tasks, such as shoemaking, food preparation, peddlers, among other trades, because that way they could alleviate the situation of their families. If that happens with educators, there was also a huge dropout.Because there was no encouragement for the study.Nothing changed. There are the destroyed campuses, many are still covered by weeds, with walls and ceilings in poor condition, functioning with difficulties because the bathrooms have not been rebuilt and they lack dining halls, which were a way of attracting students because in the absence of food in their homes, they were supplied with some food in the schools. The lack of educators has also been notorious, because the number that dropped out of the activities could not be resolved. But, weren't the boys from the youth job incorporated? In the first place, those boys had no vocation to teach classes;secondly, they were not prepared because it is not easy to train educators, since they must study at a university or pedagogical institute, and not in places;and as a third point, what these volunteers were looking for was an acceptable remuneration, which the State did not offer them. And, for the rest, what are they going to teach if they don't know what they are going to do?That recruitment also did not work, because the “chambistas” also deserted. So, then, that was a failure because improvisation in the educational field does not work.-The income of educators has been reduced since this regime began, since by then a university professor earned, on average, 2,400 dollars per month.Last year, what a university professor received was 11 dollars. And now it is no more than 100 dollars plus 45 bolivars as a bonus. With that amount, how can a professional who has prepared himself to serve his country live?It must be remembered that in 2011 the equalization of salaries in education ended. And the deterioration of salary has been progressive.Almost at the end of March of this year the tables were produced, which were prepared by Onapre.Because let's see, what this socialist government has tried to do is make everyone equal in poverty and take it to the extreme of misery. That is why not only education is a disaster, but also health, since people die because hospitals lack everything.I am aware of educators who have left the country because they could not find medicine here, since these are extremely expensive and where they went they received free treatment and were able to save themselves. With the Chinese virus, countless people, including teachers, have died. And I say countless because the figures provided by the government are not reliable, because they do not include the deceased who have been treated at home and could not overcome the disease.Returning to the salary issue, I can say that when this year's increase occurred, some educators who had abandoned their activities tried to join, but the government authorities prevented it, alleging that they had abandoned their positions. And how could they not abandon them if they weren't enough for anything?-You say that the worst has happened in the last three years. What is the future of education?Dark.Because the education that has been imparted is of such poor quality that they are being promoted, Cuban-style, to students without taking exams.Even without attending classes. And there are many who leave the sixth grade and do not know how to do mathematical operations, because they did not learn to add or multiply, or subtract or divide. Those same ones are going to go to high school, but it will be difficult for them to enter the universities because they were not well prepared. Not counting those who have been dropping out of primary school because they couldn't continue going to school due to lack of supplies or because they live in extreme poverty. At this time, there are no more than two hundred students who have registered to study and become teachers.Education in Venezuela does not have a good future unless this changes drastically and this socialism is replaced by a democracy.Because what we are seeing is sad.High schools with a capacity for a thousand or more students are practically alone because only 120 or 150 students are attending. And, of course, very few teachers for what has already been exposed.A government that took away all the labor conquests of educators, that abandoned schools, that improvised education because it put activists in ministries, cannot be considered good for the educational process.Minister Yelitza Santaella came to that position after having lost her re-election to the governorship of Monagas, but she had previously been a Delta Amacuro deputy because she is an activist of the regime's party. And so, in general, it is the educational authorities, political activists who, of course, impose their ideology on the educational process, which, as I already said, is very bad.Click here to support freedom of expression in Venezuela.Your donation will serve to strengthen our digital platform from the writing
